Venue: Kallang Leisure park entrance (near 7-eleven)

In order to make this outing fulfilling (fun lor), if you have any boardgames, pls bring it along as we will queue for the festival of praise in Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS).

Last but not least, our dinner we will pack the meal and bring it over to SIS.

My journey to serve

As I read the 40 Day prayer booklet, it just brought me back to Year 2002, when I was asked by ex-cell leader (haa, she is still in the FCBC, but just that we were moving to G12 vision, thus, I joined my current leader) to join Boy's Brigade to serve as BB officers.

At the point of time, I just went to pray abt this new ministry, whether I should go to serve or not. Immediately, after I pray through then God just said Go and serve.

It is not an easy journey, when I struggle like hell (really, it is not easy as most of my BB boys are superb hyper active). I remembered, Ps William will always come to say to me, Press on......
I think he knew I struggled.

Week in and week out, I was in BB with my fellow brothers, Adrian to serve. Haaa, we always try to plan the events together (we are both taking care of 1 squad each: Squad 1 and Squad 5)....

Atlhough, I am not longer actively serve in 85th coy, but I thank God to allow me how powerful is BB ministry. Although, they are many rights to give out, time, money, comfort, family, etc. But, showing love to others is marvellous because God first showed us the love :)

haa..... as i read about today's 4o days's prayer booklet. Holy Spirit again reminded me to trust in Jesus fully, Matthew6:31-34.

So, stay focus on Him ba..... I am sure God will make your life less worry :)

Thank God for the Year of Sabbath that allows me to settle down my heart to listen Your word.

As I listened to You & do your work, I just realised how beautiful it is to be in your presence.

I want to hear more from You through my cell leader, my father, my supervisor, my members, my strangers, etc.

Let me do not forget the cross, the heavy cross when You died for our sin.

Thanks God for showing us this road:

SC cell outing - Festival of Praise

As we will immerse into song of God in Festival Praise.

While, let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching, Hebrews 10:25.

Let us believe that God will speak to us in this yearly event and the most important to have fun with one another.

Self-Conscious

Looking for a role model is important in our life as it helps us to find what we want in our life.

In prayer booklet today, 13/07/08, it started with giving us the background of the birth of Jesus, the humble background might not attract people to label Him as a role models in our life.

Even before the birth of Jesus, God sent an angel, Gabriel to Zechariah to tell him, he will have a child in his old age. Due to his Self-Conscious, he found this is ridiculous for his wife, Elizabeth to give birth a child. But, Angel Gabriel mentioned for nothing is impossible with God, Luke 1:19-20. It is true that Elizabeth gave birth a son, John, whom will prepare the coming of Christ.

It is not stop at 1 mystery of God. God is preparing another mystery, the greatest of Chirstianity, the birth of Jesus. God sent an angel to Mary to tell her she will give birth to baby Jesus.

I believe we are living in the age where we are very conscious other people's opinions, Just like Zechariah, he felt shock after being told he will have a son in his old age. Why is that so, he is too conscious about people Opinion.

While, Mary in the other case, trust the Lord as being told by an angel, she will have a baby. In the end, she chose to trust in the Lord.

Let us throw away the Self-Conscious that set by people around us, ask God to help you to have more of Him each day. So, next time, when you see an old lady when she needs to cross over the road, you will help her while you are chit-chatting with your friends.

May God transform your life to be more God-Conscious to help the poor and needy as Jesus came to earth not to be served but to serve Matthew 20:28:)

These few days we are reading about caring the poor and helping them.Why should we care for the poor when you don't know them at all? the answer can be found in the book.We must care for the poor if we are serious about rightly representing God's character. So fear God and care for the poor and you will honor Him and I like this verse it speak to me alot Deuteronomy 10.

40-Day Prayer - Day 7 - The social mandate

Holy nation. Caring community.
That’s the kind of society God intended Israel to be. The poor
would be helped in ways that did not undermine their dignity.
The alien or foreigner would be treated as part of the family.
Get this straight: Caring for the poor and needy is not a new
idea — it is God’s will, right from the birth of Israel.

It reminded me last year 2007, I went with some of my fellow brother(Adrian)'s cell members, Brandon n Joel Ang to Festival of Praise. I met one of guy whom he picked up $1 dollar during the bus trip to the concert, he asked me, "whether this is mine or not". I said, " it is not mine". But when I think back, actually that $1 is mine... haaa (blur king). So cooincidently, we are sitting together, I enjoyed the concert. While, he always talked to me and even asked my HP no; in the end, I gave.

Not long after the concert, He called me that he needed help and some money to pay his MRT fare. Immediately, I rejected Him. The reason I dont want to help is inconvenient to me as I am working.

Then, we lost touch for almost 9mths, I met him in Plaza Sing after I have movie outing with my cell group. My immediate reaction is close the lift so that he would not have chance to talk to me. After that, I felt guilty as the person might just need my little help, little amount of money to buy food, Yet I rejected him. During the supper session with my guys, I confessed, I should not harden my heart.....

When I looked at the theme today, I'm realised I didnot fulfil the calling of God to serve the needy and poor. More than this, God has use this guy to ask me at least 3 times to soften my heart to help him but I rejected. God always use situations around us to mould us and shape us, yet I failed.

Lord, help me to have a tender heart that willing to serve and to help. May I have more of you each day that I will die to cross daily to remember how you died for the poor and needy

Lord, help me to see those who is in need and help willingly :)

40-Day Prayer - Day 5 - The Great Promise

How are u all doing in your praying and fasting?
i know that fasting is really very troublesome(ma fan) cant eat for a meal. As Isaiah 58:6 it said fast is the loose the chains of injustice and break every yoke.So let's do it with whole heart!

Now today is the 5 of July i gonna share with u all something.

I know that most of you point finger and speak evil word or maybe judge other including me I sometimes talk at the back of my friends. If you are that kind of people and you are still doing that now is Time to pray and REPENT!!! So that u can live a great and happy life with God everyday. Judging your friends or maybe your enemies, You will judge too by God. So let's not let God judge us and Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. that you may be sons of your father in heaven(Matthew 5:44-45).

Will you help the needy and poor? I guess many will not help them but do you know we are judged by how we treat the poor and needy. So let's help the needy by helping to satisfy the needs of the needy the Lord will also satisfy your needs. When you gave a cup of cold water to the poor your life will be refreshed continually. What can you do to help the needy? Simply pray for the people in the Myanmar cyclone and people in Sichuan earthquake. Pray for God's heal and place to stay for those who have survivors.

I also know that is hard to live in a "unholy" land and the worst of the worst are your friend is also "unholy" so what you should do? Should you follow them? Of course not. Let's be a light for them by simply love them so that they will feel that you are really a difference person from others and they will want to know you more then you can change a "unholy" person to a Holy person. All these things need time to happen not love them one day they will know you are difference from the rest. So love them!

So go and live a holy life for God. May God bless your days and you!

40-Day Prayer - Day 3 - 'The great farce'

Hey all,
Sorry for the late sharing. went out 2day..

'The great farce' - July 03

How many of us actually realised that sometimes we might be fasting..just for the sake of fasting!
Or rather, are we self-conscious of what we are doing? Do we just follow what others do?
Well, that happens to me often. today's message was a wake-up call for me.

Fasting is an important spiritual discipline that can bring great rewards. How so?
- Daniel received end-time revelations from God
- Esther helped to avert an empire-wide genocide against Jewish.

However, What about Isaiah's generation ?
They did so many things but to no avail.
It only goes down to one thing, Rebellion.
" Ritual without heart transformation. Merely going through motions. Mixed with self-interest. "

As mentioned by Ivan,
Rebellion can be hidden under christian activities which are good.

Even as i looked through the 2 previous pages, I believe God really wants to emphasize to us on
dangers & price we have to pay for rebellion.
Sometimes we're just so naive and do things like its just part of our 'Christian Ritual'.

We should always come with a right attitude and heart thats pleasing to God, so that in the things
we do, rewards will be given to us.

The bottom line is,
'Fasting pleases God, only when it is accompanied by heart change, character transformation'

40-Day Prayer - Day 2 - A Great Trap

Today, i read the book on 40 Days 08. today, the topic was a great trap. today, I found out that rebellion was a great sin. Rebellion can hide even under christian activities which are good.
Like the book has stated," Christian rituals and ministry-busyness without heart transformation is profoundly offensive to Him. Merely going through the motions of religious piety is false worship"

This line in the book really spoke to me alot. Sometimes at church, when we praise and worship God, we sing songs of praise such as 'Take It All' and 'Everyday'. Sometimes, we tend to sing the songs mainly because we find the song nice, music catchy and because the lyrics are cool. However, we have neglected the true meaning behind worshiping and praising him. When we praise and worship him, we are actually praising him and thanking him for the things he has done in our lives and are giving thanks to him. I feel that when we praise and worship him, we should do it with a proper heart and we should not just sing because we like the song.

When we sing praise songs, our main point in singing is to acknowledge that he died on the cross for our sins and that we will submit ourselves to him in all that we do.

I just like to say that in whatever we do, we must do it with the right heart...=D GOD Bless U ALL

40 Day - Prayer : The great Buffet

Have you wonder what would you like to pick in a lunch buffet? We might pick up the best stuff we love to eat and ignore it if we don't like it.

Is this happends to your christian life where reading bible is only out of your preference and your convenience?

I think 1st day of 40-Day prayer answers this question.

It brings us to Isaiah 58, when the people of Israel prayer and fasting for something to happend but they prayer and fasting are not answered....

They felt very frustrated, they asked God, yet God give them a very profound answer:

The bottom line on your 'fast days' is profit.
You drive your employees much too hard.You fast, but at the same time you bicker and fight.
You fast, but you swing a mean fist.
The kind of fasting you do won't get your prayers off the ground.
Do you think this is the kind of fast day I'm after: a day to show off humility?
To put on a pious long face and parade around solemnly in black?
Do you call that fasting, a fast day that I, God, would like?
Isaiah 58: 3b-5 (message)

The prayer and fasting must come with a right attitude towards God. How do we know we are good steward of Lord. It can be seem as how we treat our friends, family members, church friends, teachers, etc.

If we choose to love them, whatever prayer we pray for, God will answer in His timing.

Still remember the verse of the year for FCBC:
If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD's holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob." The mouth of the LORD has spoken.

How to enjoy the fasting?

Hi SC cell

As we enter into season of prayer and fasting. The most tedious part might be how to enjoy

fasting. Personally, it is not easy for me also, as I see other having lunch yet I am fasting for my lunch.

Thus, It is very important to align with God.

Below are the tips extracted from 40-Day prayer and fasting booklet. Hope this will help you and let us enjoy

this season of interdependance by encourage each to finish this lap of faith journey.

1. Set aside time each day to seek God in prayer and fasting. It may be half an hour or one hour or more.

2. Adopt an attitude of prayer as you go about your daily duties at home, at work or at school. Apply what you learnt in tangible actions.

3.Scale down your normal activities. Avoid rigorous exercise such as rock-climbing, cycling or jogging.

4.Be alert! Besides fasting from food, fast from things that distract, such as television, internet, computer games; or things that destroy such as coarse jesting or careless words.

5.Break your fast gradually and wisely. For health reasons, you should consume small portions as you break fast, avoiding chilli or

acidic foods as much as possible.

Have you even worry about your 'tomorrow', your life partner, your career & even your dealth?

What will happen if suddenly all the good things in the earth with you just evaporated?

Have the above questions being surfaced to your minds before?

I think Jesus must realised we are the nervous/anxious people (like gum chong spiders) when we faced problems.

In John 14:1-4

He reassures us again that He will prepare a room for each of us and ask us to trust in Him.

When I look into my life, I allowed myself to indulge into the worriesome and let unnecessary things to happend. Then, I realised I made my friends, family members and more worry about me or hurt them.

That's the reason why Jesus continue to share: "I am the way, the truth and the life" in John 14:10 to anchor deep in our soul. He wants us to be still in the midst of storm.

At the end of John 14, after His sharing about the coming of Holy Spirit (whom we have received and experience- I believe haaaa). He reminded us again" peace I leave with you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid", John10:27.

Let us start to tidy up our minds and trust in the Lord as rooms are prepared for us in the Heaven.

Just realise the article below is very relevant to us after the Tommy Tenney seminar :The God chasers

Dont feel discourage you are only able to minister to only your family members, your cell members yet it is not the multitude of people who do not know God.

Yet, Remember this verse:
10"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?
Luke 16:10-11

As you faithfully serve people around you, God will entrust you more. Let us be a Martha (blessing) to people around today to bring a Mary (Good news) to them :)

A pastor I know and love is discouraged. Although he is diligent in prayer and works hard, his church remains small while a new congregation nearby is rapidly developing into a megachurch. Yet when I think of the alcoholics, drug addicts, and sexually immoral people he has led to the Savior and a new way of life, I see him as one who witnesses in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Because of what happened on the Day of Pentecost (described in Acts 2), we tend to associate the Holy Spirit’s presence and power with amazing phenomena and large numbers. We forget that a little later the same people filled with the same Holy Spirit were rejected, flogged, imprisoned, even executed. But through it all they were powerful witnesses!

The Holy Spirit’s presence and power can be evidenced in a dynamic preacher who attracts great audiences. But it is seen as well in the volunteer who carries on a one-on-one prison ministry, in the person who witnesses to a co-worker or a neighbor, and in the Sunday school teacher who faithfully teaches week after week.

The power of Pentecost is not especially reserved for the highly gifted. Rather, it is available to all believers in Christ who want to serve Him.

How is your life in vietnam? The sec 1 boys are busying for their exam and even their Big brother likes Hanquan, Paul, etc are preparing their coming exam in June. This coming saturday, 10/5, we will go to Tommy Tenney Seminar "The God Chaser". It is a seminar to teach us how to draw closer to God. Yep, it just fit well for this year theme "Year of Sabbath".

While, Daryl has just being baptized on 24/05/08. It is spirtual felt day, as Daryl even mentioned to that God has helped him to overcome the devil for his life. The big Kok Kok, from Jian Hui (Spiritual Leader) came and support Daryl on the day also. Indeed, we are so touched by one of the ex-convict when He shared about this life.

Psalm 111: Covenant of Rainbow

When we made covenants to our friends, our love ones, it is a releasing of promises to them.

It sounds likes a big contract to us to bind us to follow the promises we made. Sometimes, it became a burden to us.

Yet God reminded us in Psalm 111 that is His convenant is everlasting:

1st:

He has caused his wonders to be remembered;

the LORD is gracious and compassionate. (v4)

2nd:

The works of his hands are faithful and just;

all his precepts are trustworthy. (v7)

3rd:

He provided redemption for his people;

he ordained his covenant forever—

holy and awesome is his name. (v9)

4th:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;

all who follow his precepts have good understanding.

To him belongs eternal praise. (v10)

Thus, as you face difficulties in your life when you handle the promises you have made to your family, friends, etc; Trust Him that He will deliver you and you see the Covenant of Rainbow :)

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. (Genesis 9:12-13)

A mile from the finish line of the London Marathon, thousands of onlookers holding signs lined the route. When spectators spotted a family member or friend coming into view, they shouted the person's name, waved, and yelled encouragement: "Just a little farther! Keep going! You're almost there." After running 25 miles, many competitors were barely walking and ready to quit. It was amazing to watch exhausted runners brighten and pick up the pace when they saw someone they knew or heard their name called out.

Encouragement! We all need it, especially in our walk of faith. The book of Hebrews tells us to keep urging each other on. "Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, . . . but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (10:24-25).

The New Testament is filled with the certainty that Christ will return soon. "The Lord is at hand" (Phil. 4:5). "The coming of the Lord is at hand" (James 5:8). "Behold, I am coming quickly" (Rev. 22:12).

As we "see the Day approaching," let's keep cheering each other on in the faith. "Keep going! You're almost there! The finish line is in sight." — David C. McCasland

Journey to the east

It has been a struggle for me for the past 1 year about my direction in work.....

Suddenly, the passion that once had in teaching disappeared...

I have been in dilemma as looking around my friends are doing so well in chemical industry.

Yet, It is on the Sanctification week 1st night, Pastor Khong brought up this question:
Is the presence of God or blessing of God you are looking for?

I wept on the night, knew that the dream God showed it to me when I was called to teach.

Lord, thank for your enlightenment, I was on gear again to seek for your presence.

I will persevere until You asked me to stop :)

Psalm 89

Psalm 89 background is on the King David whom God promised that
You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,
'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.' "
Psalm 89:3-4

Then, the writer of this psalm continued to praise the Lord ,
For who is the skies above can comparewith the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly being?
Psalm 89:6
O Lord God Amighty, who is like you? You are mightly, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
Psalm 89:8

There is many praises to Him (indeed it is unlimited love, Cos our God is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last).

The writer then brought us back to King David's annointing to reminded us that God's promise never going in vain.
Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: "I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the people.
I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
Psalm 89:19-21

It then emphasised again the David lines will be established forever.
I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.
I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
Psalm 89:28-29

Yet King David and his descendant's disobedience brougth them to the ruin the Kingdom of Israel
I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness—and I will not lie to David-
that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;
it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky."

Psalm 89:34-37

Yet God reminded us

but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.

Psalm 89:33

Yep, He will never betray His faithfulness, it is just the He reveals more His savaltion plan to us that He pointed to Our Ultimate Sacrificial Lamb, Lord Jesus.

Have you wonder how God counts on our sin? God has the most sophisticated database system to keep track all our sins. But as we read this Psalm 89, it give us a hope that Jesus is our saviour and our Lord.

Let us continue to live a life that is worthy of God, take up the Cross daily....

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

It is a week that we were looking forward. It prepare to seek His Presence.

Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

I think the Sanctification week set the tune in our life that we must put God first, prioritise our task lists.

While, when I did my daily reading on Psalm 85,

I just thank God that He will give harvest in His timing.

The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.
Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.
Psalm 85:12-13

Let us trust in Him always and continue the faith journey ahead.

I have read the Psalm 78 this morning.......

It reminded me a 2 things (Psalm 78:1-8)
1. The word of God must seep into our hearts.
2. The word of God must pass down to next generations and beyond.

Then, it awes me as God prepare me for this season of sanctification.
It helps to show my sin in life and things that is honour to God. The rest of Psalm 78 reminded me how stiff and stubborn is the people of Israel to continue sin against the Lord. Our God not just 1 time to forgave them and delivered them from their enemy but 3 times being mentioned "Put God in test",

v18 They willfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved.
v41 Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel.
v56 But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes.

It is a wake up call for me to challenge me to draw nearer to Him and really seep down the word into heart and say it out loud: Lord, help me to the Faith doer. How about you?

While, you might wonder how to make the next generations stronger. It will only happended when We give all our heart, our soul to Him, to love our neighbours more than ourselves.

As I read Psalm 58, God just reminded me again Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

It vividly reminded me that we actually can be as firm as when we do
evil or good things.

But God also reminded us the ultimate blessing is those who faithfully
serve Him and do good things in Psalm 58:11.

Then men will say,
"Surely the righteous still are rewarded;
surely there is a God who judges the earth."

Therefore let us go back to our source, Our Lord Jesus Christ in 1 John 4:9

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

May God bless your life and realise Jesus is an anchor of our soul in Hebrews 6:19-20
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Indeed, it is SURE and STEDFAST to receive the ultimate blessing.:)

I am sharing about psalm 48:14.

"For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end"

I encourage u all to continue go deep in the word of God, I'm sure God will bless you all and guide u all through this whole life.Indeed we're entering for a 40 days praying and fasting. I know to most of u, u think that pray for 1 hour is quite hard maybe because u feel like God is not with you or you don't know what to tell God but I encourage you guys just give your 1 hour to him; maybe u can do nothing or listening to worship songs. In the end, God still see our heart whether your heart is 100% to him or 50% to him so do spend your 1 hour with God.

This is the meaning of Hymn from the dictionary.
Yesterday, as a cluster we went to Word Encounter, then Ps Hee Guan play few
hymns to us....

It is such amazing time as we are praising the Lord while we read psalms and sing the hymns.
I believe these two are one, we cannot seprate this two as reading the psalms is dead if we only read without glorify , praising him.

One of the songs has been touching my life, Be Exalted, O God. This song told us to give thank all
the time..... Yep that's the spirit of Worship the Lord.

As I have done my devotion today....... this verse just prompted me to pray for
our parents, superiors, cell leaders and our nation leaders.

After all these years, I realised one things it is always the leaders being hit first.

射人先射马，擒贼先擒王
To shoot a man, first shoot his hourse; capture the force to beat his force.

Thus, it is necessary for us to obey our leader so that in the midst of their hardwork to against all the evils; so that they might find joy, they would not feel that they are lonely.......

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.
They keep watch over you as men who must give an account.
Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.

Yep... indeed, Lord I thank for your unfailling love to me as I shared my desire in your
presence to help me to set my heart right in your desire.
I thanks for my cell group who is willing to share the burdens one another......

I believe this year will be a year where Lord will magnify Himself in many ereas as we enter into Year of Sabbath.... (like What Pastor Eugene shared, it is second time of entering, let us enter with Faith).... Happy Chinese New Year... :)

While, let me share with you all about the true meaning of 12 in the bible.......

The special meaning of the number 12

The number 12 has always been seen as referring to the twelve tribes ofIsrael.
The special meaning of the number also denotes completion and totality.
The number of apostles chosen by Jesus also numbered 12 to signify a relation to the twelve tribes of Israel. Since Jesus came to begin the reign of the New Israel, the number 12 in the apostles is a way of continuing the tradition of the number 12 of the tribes of Israel.

Of course all these help me and hopefully you to understand G12 vision better.....

The fear of the Lord

The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life - who shall I afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
When my enemies and my foes attack me, (psalm 27:1-2)

They will stumble and fall.

When I read Psalm 27, suddenly, my heart not longer worry about my future career, my future lifepartner,
my own personal issues, etc.

King David gave us a indication that God will help to curb our fears, not only he will help He will give the best to us.....

But sometimes, we heard about Lord you never answer our prayer, how come it never come true.
We have waited some long ..........

King David reminded us again....

I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the Living.

Wait for the Lord:
Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Lord help us to draw near to you :)

Today I still feel a bit of tired, but as I started to read psalm, God just reminded me about unwaver faith on Him......

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. (v1)

It reminded me that God is our healer, Jehovah Rapha. I will trust you for your healing.

As I read Psalm 26 again, it brought me to verse 12,

I have been unwell since the starting of Year 2008..

Flu, cough, fever has become my good friends.

While, I just want to continue to give thank to God as He leads me to read a psalm a day when I am not feeling well....

I believe by reading a psalm, it will keep us from any wrongdoings and be righteous for Him.

Today, as I read psalm 25, God just showed me the word 'Hope', it is hope that guide us to the truth.....

guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (v5)

and even more it will give us protection......

May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. (v21)

Went for a course for almost 2 mths,

They said I changed, but thank God this change

Psalms 139, the chapter of the year I am claiming this year after given by the Lord in the starting of Year 2007. Psa 139:9-10 mentioned

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

'See the morning' a hope which given that propel me to do Your will.

God, I want to given thanks for your great mighty hands to sustain me & realign me to focus doing your work. I was doubt before but today you showed me Psalms 1:1-3 which its main theme is fruitness will come if we obey word of God.

1 Blessed is the man

who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked

or stand in the way of sinners

or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither.

Whatever he does prospers.

I am very thankful that you showed me this passage 3 time, wah.... it opens my eyes to see the multitude of lost and give them hope by become the vessel for the love of Christ Jesus.

Lord, today it is just the right start for me to see your mighty hand in work.

Lord, help me for 100k blessing, I don't know how to start.

Lord, help me to draw closer to you so that I can see your revelation.

Climbing the Hill

I must admitted that sometimes I am too complacement about the ministry I am doing. I thought I have done enough the things.

Especially, when the 100k blessing be mentioned by Senior Pastor, I felt it is another event for me to participant. Until yesterday, JH family had combined cell with Wang Ying (SF12) and Xinqin (SF12). It was begun with the sharing of how we will do the 100k blessing together after 5k warrior sign up.

She shared about the origin of our cluster, NUS. How Ps Hee Guan has been plowed out the land and see the multitude by quoting from bible passage, Exodus 17:8-16 and Numbers 14:20-45.

The first passage mentioned how united Isralites beat the mighty enemy Amalakites and declared Lord as our banner, Jehovah Nissi. It happended because God blessed Isralites through anointed Moses. But this is not enough, this faith must be flow down from Moses to Aaron, to Hur and to the whole community.

Ironically, the second passage (Numbers 14:20-45), the disbelief, fear and disobedience make Isralites refuse to cross over to promise land and because of this, Isralites were in the 40years of wilderness.

I am sure we are tasted the goodness of the Lord, but sometimes, we forgot it. Let's come back and recognize that He is our great God, the victory has been won for the Lord.

3 weeks holiday

It is a holiday I am longed for it after 11 weeks of hardwork in teaching.

Indeed, I received the unconventional rest from the Lord.

Although, the death of my student caused me to grief, God relieved me that He is sovereign Lord.
Although, I still need to go back to school, God provided the time for me to tidy up
my emotion and physical workload.
Although, my father was admitted to hospital, God's mercy is on my father where he discharged from the hospital and recovered speedily.

Just want to give thanks for all things happended in this 3 weeks that allow me to know
He will never forsake me
Give thanks for the unconventional rest, as I really being charged up to serve Him more.

Indeed, the miraculous of the Lord will continue to happended on us, it will not stop at one time.
This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him, John 2:11
Lord, I know more and more miracles will happend as I put faith on you.

Pray diligently

Last Friday, during the cell gp, Ahpa mentioned it is necessary to have prayer journal so that we can keep our prayer in account. Reflecting from my prayer life that it is ad hoc basis (of Course it is prompted by Holy Spirit), but what God wants is a time of devotion that is set apart for Him to pray for the LOST.

So I made up my mind to use the morning time to take up the prayer journal to pray for those burdens that God has put in my heart. Just like Jesus pray for Himself, pray for his disciples and those who (will) believe, John 17.

Guess? Do I persevere? Yes, By the grace of the Lord Jesus, I have done it since saturday. Let's do it together to change the climate for God because God loves the lost soul. I am sure the Easter Sunday will be a great revival to come.

Self-Righteous vs Sovereignity

It has been almost one month, I never blog. I have been busy on my work. During this period of time, God showed me how great is His righteousness through His work.

Firstly, I was always annoyed by others when people does something that is not rightful for God. But, in Romans 3:21-26, it mentioned that God has provided a righteousness of His own for men and women, a righteousness we do not processs ourselves.

Why? We always ends up in this situation, you felt hurt by other. It is because of our self-righteous. Do you still remember the Pharisees, who obeyed the Mosaic Law? They are those zealous Jews who follow the Law strictly but didn't recognize that we need ULTIMATE RIGHTEOUSNESS. We need to reckon, the blood of Jesus cleansed us from sin as Roman3:23 said,

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Last friday, one of my student died on the car accident. He was one of the student who has every right attitudes to excel . Then, I asked God, why this thing happen to him? I did one video clip for him, wherever I saw this video clip, I cried. grief, waited, and finally know that I need to pray to God. Indeed, God is very good, my cell leader, my colleague and finally another brother shared about God's SOVEREIGNITY over everythings including living things. We need to TRUST His plan, there must be a reason why this thing happended.

I thank Lord as He brought me to the next level of Faith on Him by give up my self-righteousness and submit on His sovereignity plan for us.

Reunion

It has been a wonderful chinese new year to me. In this festive season, I had few quarrels (Yup it is true, ha). Firstly, miscommunication with my brother in Christ, then with my colleague and last with my family. I realised one things, it bottoms it down to one things, whether I let God take charge in my life. Many time, I chose to hold my rights, it ended up I was entangled by own silly and sinful way.

Lord, I thanks you for your great Love shower upon all the time and all the great witnesses of Christ (like my ahpa) that allows me to see my shortcomings. Indeed, it is a great time to reunion with You, my dear brother, my dear colleague and my family. This year is really a special Chinese New Year that will always embedded in my soul, my mind & my heart.

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. I was very busy this week, my class had an fellowship time on Monday in Memories at Old Ford Factories, near to Hume Park (Upper Bukit Timah area). My colleage and me were enjoying the whole session with the students.

While, I am very thankful as my students' attendance improved. I am so thankful that I made a decision to give my contact no. and email to my student, which allows more interactions.

But, I am more than happy to see my students start to open to me to share their burden to me. Although, I might not able to help them, but it is a channel to help them to release their anxiety and not to worry so much.

Yes, indeed, as a servant of God, we can speak peace to people around us.

Being Love or To Love?

Today, many people will feel the absence of love as keenly as others celebrate its presence.

Love is so important to each other: being love and to love is such a profound wisdom. Some so afraid not being love by people around; some so afraid of not how to love the people around them.

Why these happen? Because We all have void in our heart, we need to fill by Love. In a world where love means so much, is there a word from the Lord for everyone, with or without a sweetheart?

First John 4 focuses not on being loved by another person, but on God’s love for us and our love for one another (vv.7-11). According to 1 Corinthians 13:7, this love "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." How is this possible? Because God’s love "has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit" (Rom. 5:5).

On this the day when we express undying love and faithfulness, let’s not forget that God above gave us His Son in perfect love.

It was a meaningful year for me. Indeed, I know this year is a year of Victory Year 2007. As I saw the goodness of God continue to shower on me. But, I also realised the responsibilities become bigger and bigger to me.

I always like to help anyone as people approached me. But, I felt the most of the time, when I need help, no one can help me. Sometimes, I felt upset about this things. Why people always take advantage of me? I felt that is burden for me when something I not suppose to but it comes back to me. Whenever I think about this issue, the bitterness just surface on my heart, but I know this is not from God. It came from the flesh which always put me dilemma. I don't know how to settle these issues but always kept it into my heart.

During the cell group yesterday, Ahba was sharing about building the altar to God. it shared about how to build the altar with a right heart and attitude. If you have any grudges, unfairness to your brothers or sisters, you should declare to the those brothers or sisters first. Then, come to build an altar for Lord Jesus.

A Brother Who Sins Against You

15"If your brother sins against you,[b] go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'[c] 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
18"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be[d]bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.

I know that is the answer I am looking for so long. I am always have too many to thing but I don't know how to say NO in nice way. I know I need to clarify to them but I choose to hide it, but it is impossible for me to contain. Lord, I know you are speaking to me that I need to be communicate well with anyone around me. Lord, I thanks you that you allowed me to go through this though time to let me know this is always my weakness that keep the things to myself.

Lord, I am so thankful to you that you even provide me a chance to go for the Sanctification week next friday (The Company Retreat has been postpone). I know you are doing a great favor on me, thanks for your great love on me. I will continue to serve you and be more dare to share my views to my fellow brothers in a nice way so that we will see your Kingdom comes. We will continue to run the race until you call us to stop.

A Blessing Spirit

As I was doing daily devotion, I prayed the Lord what word you want to speak in this season of life. The Jars of Clay just come into mind.

It is written in 2 Corinthians 4

Treasures in Jars of Clay

1Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. 6For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"[a]made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Since the starting of the new school term in ITE, I was always troubled by workloads, commitments in every area of my life. Lord, today I will follow you to Surrender my rights to you and have faith in you. I will trust you because you said you will never give the load beyond our limits.

When I pondered on the this chapter, I realised God always want us to receive His full blessing by reminding us do not lose heart. It is only we set our eyes on Jesus, that we only able to be a blessing to others. It is again testified in the Old testament that Elisha be a blessing to the widow and the how much of the faith of the widow to receive in verse 6

The Widow's Oil

1 The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves."

A Thankful Spirit

We are always see other people flaws rather than our weakness.

We are always grumble other rather than self seeking our fault.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
6"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

In His Step

I was reading In His step recently, in this book, one person stirred by Holy Spirit, "What Would Jesus Do"? He was the pastor of the church from Raymond, called 1st Church. Because of His faith on declaring and challeging of his congregation, to do what Jesus will do.

I still remember 2 year ago when i wore the friendship strip during the Chalet in Changi with 85th BB boys : WWJD (Ha, I lost it, can't find it). I asked them what does WWJD meant, they are so interested about it, as it is another fashion acroynm for them to use. In the end, no one could tell the right meaning of the WWJD. Then, I was using that oppurtunity to share with them, it is a time to not just think about yourself but also others.

As we go back to theme about the book, it inspired me not just because a lot of living testimony by the people in Raymond and Chicago where revival happended, but also the deep work of God done on the people who long forgetten the 1st love they received from God. I was crying when I read the book, know God is using this divine timing to remind me that I need to submit to His authority.

How to submit to Him? I am sure this is always the one of 1001 questions we always ask within us?

In Matthew 19, Jesus answered to the Rich Young Man,
16Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?" 17"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." 18"Which ones?" the man inquired. I am sure Jesus would ask us about this question again and again, if He felt certain that anyone thought more of his possession than of the savior.

It brings back to simple understanding, are you struggle for giving up your own right to Him and submit to His authority? Because He said, His plan for us is to prosper us and not harm us.

As we enter to Year 2007, walk in His step, He will allow us to see the wonders and marvellous things he will do in our life.

The Law of Encouragement

It has been a good week for me as I am currently enjoy my vacation. Ha, no need to go to school early and have more rest. It has been long time, I never read the books. I have more than 10 books that still in my shelves waiting for me to read. As I continued to read the 'Teaching to Change Lives' borrowed from my fellow sister, it enlighten me how to be a motivator in life be it you are teacher, friends, brothers/sister in Christ, family members and more.

In one of the chapter: The Law of encouragement, the author shared about how to say no but encourage students to self correct in the midst of learning progress. A lot of time, the first words we will say for those who does wrong or gives troubles, 'You are such a disappointment for me';'Don't do this. In this process, we curb their creditivity and discovery but impart the sense of bitterness about the failure. They might success in future but they will have sense of grief for their life.

How to be a motivator? In the following notes, the author, Dr Howard Hendrinks said:

I've been teaching for more than thirty-five years in the same school, and it's quite humbling to consider the ministry impact today of some of the students God has marked through my life. I think the reason God used me is that, by his grace, the Holy Spirit has developed in me an incurable confidence in his ability to change people.

I trust the Spirit has given you that same confidence, because if you don't have it, your impact will always be limited. The Spirit of God wants to use you as His motivational tool working externally upon the learner, while he is at work internally

It touches me a lot as it speaks to me how to be a good teacher, spirtitual father, good son & more.

Do I give my best for students, listen to their needs or just say no to deny them?
Do I always ask my cell members to come for the church, without checking the season in their life?
Do I ever listen carefully to my father and spiritual father and help them?
Do I listen to Abba Father when you ask me to stop?

Lord, help me to live not by might, not by strength, but by the Spirit of God. I am now trully understand What Ps Eugene has been shared:

Jian Hui Family Retreat

Entering into the Year of Victory 2007 Through Celebration the Goodness of God and the Family of God"

This is our theme for JH Family Retreat! You may think it is too long but It cames with purposeful meaning behind. Our Ahba, Jian Hui shared with us that without the thanksgiving to God in Year 2006 and the spiritual family given to us, we would not be able enter Year 2007 with the conquering spirit. (Remember that! During G12 conference 2006, Ps Cesar)

All JH12 were get set for the Jian Hui retreat, we arrived on 21 Dec to prepare for the Ubin trip next day. Then, Our Ahba with the help of Malcom and Raymond us the dinner, so touched by the father's love. After dinner, we have a good time of fellowship by having teambolding game. It was good session where we enjoyed and get to know each other better. The night ended with the worship by Adrian and sharing by Ahba. We are reminded in the worship that it is not by strength, not by might but by the spirit of the Lord, Zech4:6. Ahba then shared about the importance of Thanksgiving to the Lord in Psalm 145.

Indeed, We have so many things to give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for Year 2006. Some shared about How great is our Lord to provide good job; Some shared about their thanksgiving in ministry. After the worship and sharing session, We strongly believed we will be enter into year of victory.

On the second day, God provided a good weather which allowed the JH144 to enjoyed the whole day event in Ubin. The theme of Ubin trip are:

a) Know tthers
b) Know Ourselves
c) Know God

We started the with the group ice breaker in the basketball court as we get to know each others. While Ahba led us in the mass ice breaker, we were running wild when we played " Fire, Hunter, Earthquake'. Before we set off to know ourselves and God, we were given some time to have lunch break.

Along the way to Ubin quarry, my group (SC group) took the photos to prepare for the montage.
The highlight of the trip was we met two FCBC members shared about Our Pastor Hee guan in the Merbah Hut (We are stucked them because of rain). One of them Meow Kiat said, she was so encouraged by the Ps Hee Guan as He has been healed by God during Healing seminar of John Wimber. Then, Malcom said that we were not just come here to see the creation of God, but also hear the word of God. We are believe that the Holy Spirit is greatly in work in our Church.

After that, we went to Nordin beach. We have fun in the Nordin beach as we overcame the challenges. We even became the fastest group to pass the tennis ball from one to another. It took 0.6 second. Ha ha, in the end we still be the last group to go back to main island, but the spirit of Joy is overflow us.

Thanks Lord for the love and protection over these 3 days 2 nights. Indeed, without the favor of you, this camp would not success (prior to the JH family retreat, Singapore was hit by the heaviest downpour on 19/12; weather forecast said the raining period will continue until 25/12).

The King of Kings

Long before animals roamed the earth, a great King issued a decree and the universe came into existence. With endless imagination and detail, the King filled the land, waters, and sky with living creatures of every shape, color and size. The the King reached down, picked up a handful of loose soil, and breathed into His own likeness. From the dust the King made a man to share His happiness. Then He made the first woman from a rib He took from the man.

In their garden home the King had planted two trees. One He called the “tree of life” and the other, “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Pointing to the second tree, the King said, “Don’t eat from this tree or you will die.”

The caretaker took the King’s counsel and shared His happiness. But hiding in the shadows, a rebel watched the caretaker and envied their happiness. Disguised as a friend, the rebel engaged the woman in the conversation. He raised questions they had never thought about. What was the King withholding? Why didn’t He want them to know?

Curiosity got the best of them. Tasting the forbidden fruit, the caretaker suddenly felt afraid and vulnerable. Grabbing leaves to cover themselves, they ran to hide from the King. Life would never be the same.

Seasons changed. Generations passed. The King kept promising His chosen people that through them the world would be blessed with a Son would be called, “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

The promise, however, usually fell on deaf ears. His people tested His patience until He stopped talking to them. After 400 long years the silence was broken by the cry of a baby. A young unmarried woman gave birth to a child whose name meant “Saviour.”

Thirty years later this Son of promise turned water to wine at a wedding party and then traveled form town to town doing good and giving hope to the poorest and the most troubled of people. Instead of using of His power to overthrow His enemies, the Teacher said He had not come to condemn but to be the servant of all.

In a stunning turn of events, religious leaders accused Him of trying to overthrow the government and called for His death. On a holiday that celebrated their national freedom, an angry mob unknowingly subjected the Son they had been waiting for to a public execution.

For 3 days the Teacher’s friends were afraid and confused. Then a group of women found His grave empty, and for the next 40 days the Lord of life let hundreds of His followers see that He had overcome the power of the death in their behalf.

The great King became the servant of servants. After giving us life to share His joy, He was born into our world to bear our pain. His story must be told. Everlasting happiness is waiting for all who will welcome into their hearts the Servant of servants, the Lord of lords, the King of kings.

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)

It's a amazing day as I can smelt the festive season are so strong: the sunshine are so warm, the joyous people walk around the heartland. I just felt that everyone is preparing for the coming Christmas while I was on my way to BBHQ for Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box (BBSGB)

In the train, I just read up the Sunday School material (Barnabas Touch Kidz from FCBC): Knowing the will of God. I am sure everyone has desire to be success in our life, but do we ask and seek Him for our destiny. When Apostle Paul spoke to Philippians....

...For it is God who work in you to will and to act according to His good purpose, Phillipians 2:13

While, in the OT, it explain to us even details...

"For I know the plans that I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future." Jeremiah 29:11

But are we able to submit to His will on us? It is very hard sometime as we face temptation all the time in this fallen world. It happened to me today, after I finished my duty on the morning in BBHQ (Boy's Brigade HQ), I went to Orchard during afternoon and after bought my HP on my way back to BBHQ , one salesman came forward to me and asked for doing survey for me. After a series question from him, He said I was entitled for a scrap and win contest; not just one but two, the amazing thing I got 7 days of free accomodation in selected city (without the airticket). He even offered me $10 for taxi fare to go back to BBHQ after the presentation and I accepted.

Sound Attrative, indeed I was mesmerizing by his word to go to his office to have further presentation (about 80 minutes) by his colleague. He told me I must stay whole presentation to enjoy the benefits. I am sure you are all wonder it is so great to have somebody to offer you. But, when I reached the office, not just 80 minutes but 120 minutes. Then, I realised there is no free lunch in the earth, as they might use the 120 minutes to sign up the travel package. I was suddenly wake up and remember that I need to go back for my duty in BBHQ and I was able to return $10 to him.

I am so thankful I did not accept the offer and able to return $10 to the guy. God used this oppurtunity to reminded us even Christian will fall into trap of Satan. It reminded me that we need to die for our desire so that His will be done on us.

His way is Good, pleasing and perfect.

Truth enough, after I rejected the temptation of Satan, I felt the His goodness, presant and perfectness while I was on duty with two BB boys to collect back the SOP bags and Donation tins.

Do you struggle today to succumb to the temptation, seek His view, you will find the right path that fear will be away from you.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. [a]

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.

8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.

It has been more than 1 mouth I didn't not update my Blog. I have just upload some photos which I took in China Trip. It is a nice place which I grateful and joyful to see the created wonder by God.

As the year 2006 comes to end. It is time for us to really sit back and reflect our year so that we can prepare ourselves for year 2007. Heee... I am also not an exception as God always prompted and challenged me to listen to His Word clearly so that I can fulfil His purpose in me. He just reminded Ecclesiates 3: 1 - 8.

A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

We might think about the plan of ourselves for future, but has God inside of our plan or We just omitted Him out of plan.

Let's come to word of God so that we are all be ready to discern and listen to HIS plan for us.

Day 5 - 09/10/06

It was a bright shining day, we went from纳玛酒店 to JZG Valley to start our journey to peak. JZG park looks like Y shape in the map. We went to right side of the park by gaseous bus (zero-pollution) where we can see Long Lake – the highest place in the right side first. Later, we slowly walked down through plank road to other beautiful scenery for taking photos. The water is blue in color because of calcimined on the rock in the water; the sky is also light blue with the white cloud. When these two combine together, it is just like the heaven for us, we were awe by our creator, Jehovah, our Abba Father. While we walked down from the peak, 小玛 was following us and answers all our question about JZG Valley. We went to Five-color lake before we had a lunch break in Nuorilang Repast Receive Center. We were having our cup noodles lunch with the hot water offered by the food stall.

After having a good rest, we continued our journey downwardly. We went to Tiger lake, Shuzheng Fall, Shuzheng Lakes where we see the trees is living on the water, 树在水中生，……. (he he, I am forget the next phrase). As we finished the itinerary above, we went to Shuzheng Stockade for a cultural experience. We were all get to know 藏族 better as they are very friendly and willing to share their culture with us. In my heart, I was praying for them that God will do mighty on them and they salvation will come to JZG and beyond.

After the day trip, we went to check in our luggage in 银峰酒店. Then, we set off to one of the 藏族 tribe dinner. We realized it is a spiritual warfare as we step into the camp, we are remind each other to have wisdom of God to visit the place. I believe it was a warfare we must face it if we really want them to come to know Lord Jesus. It is very important to know their culture. Ps Hee Guan showed us how to be calm and have a peace of God. We are so thankful that we able to enjoy the dinner yet really know God is in control in everything.

Day 4 – 08.10.06

Haaa, finally we went able to see the panda in the 大熊猫基地. We woke up early to make sure that we would be able to see the panda. It took 45 minutes from the city. Ps Shu Fang were so attracted by the panda, she even intend to take photo with the panda personally. Eventually, she didn’t because the fee to take photos is too steep, abt RMB 400.

After that we went to central of the Chengdu City to have a lunch and window shopping. The place called ChunXi Jie (春熙街), it is a shopping street ( 步行街). It is such a unique place when, the street is wide and most of the shops sell clothes and some eatery stall along the street. It was open on year 2002. I was amazed by their concept as it looks so urban yet it has it own unique character as Chengdu city.

Then, the tour guide, 陈帅 brought us to Chengdu Internal Airport for check in the JZG flight. We went to a tea house to have a short break before the flight take off. Ps Shu Fang introduce the game ‘Landlord’ to us. All the girls started to study how to play the game. Subsequently, we went back to the airport to catch flight to JZG.

It took about 1hr 20 min (including the flight delay to reach Jiu Huang Airport (九黄机场). We were all well prepared for the clothing as we have been told the weather in JZG is quite cold, about 5-10 deg C. Then, we met 小玛, our tour guide in JZG Valley in the airport and she took us the hotel, 纳玛酒店. The weather is really cold on the night that we all took 4 layers of blanket plus 4 layers of clothes to sleep.

Lord, you are our shield, you are our fortress. Thanks for your protection.

Day 3 07/10/06

After having a good rest in the hotel, we were having breakfast near the hotel before Haoxin’s parent arrive at the hotel. We ate 过桥米线. The food was nice but a bit of spicy. While, Haoxin’s parent was caught in the fogging weather, they will arrive later.

While, it was a quite busy morning for us as we were also met the travel agent to seal the travel package in Jiu Zhai Gou. Both of them arrive at about the same time, we were meeting in the balcony of the hotel; Haoxin’s parents gave us some advice on the term as we were negotiating the package and helped us read through the contract of the package.

As a result, we were able to seal the travel package contract quickly and able to set off to see Du Jiang Yan ( it was surprise for us to go there). It took abt 45 minutes to reach Du Jiang Yan. Haoxin’s parent gave us a very good lunch and then we started our journey of visiting Du Jiang Yan. Then, I know the Liu Bin built the Du Jiang Yan to control the water flow of Ming Jiang (洺江). Du Jiang Yan has two major rivers (internal – constructed by Liu Bing; external – natural river). Ming Jiang was divided into internal river and external river by fish rock. During raining season, it will diverted the 60% of water to external river and the rest goes to internal river to prevent the flood of Chengdu and vice versa for dry season. I was so amazed by the perseverance of the Liu Bing.

Subsequently, we were meeting Lilian and her boyfriend for dinner. It was a sumptuous dinner as we were eating SiChuan dishes (川菜). After the dinner, we went to 武侯祠 to visit the place. In 武侯祠, we have saw different variety of shop like pub, souvenir shop & etc. After that, we settle down in Lotus pub to chit chat. We shared how to be accountable to each other as Christian and etc as we travel oversea. Subsequently, we walked back to Hotel.

It was a meaningful day as Lord you provide us with umpteen time of favor as we travel. around Chengdu.

Day 2 – 6/10/06 – Part 1
We woke up at 5.45am, we washed up a bit and then get ready for the city trip and have our sumptuous diam sum (yum yum). We are blessed by the bus conductor to take the Express bus (空港快车) service 5 to Guang Zhou city. Ps Hee Guan then led us to Globe Link Hotel (全球通国际酒店) to have our breakfast, diam sum. This Diam Sum Long (点心楼) is located at 3rd floor, it was a very good time for us as we have been offered by the best tea (as we have never have drink such a good tea) and good diam sum. We talked to a waitress, she is a Zhuang Zhu, from GuangXi (广西), She was brewing the tea for us and while we have chit chatted with her. She even translated Good morning in Zhang Zhu dialects.

After having the breakfast, we were going toward ZhuJiang (珠江), we walked by few street. We passed by Zhu Guang whole sales centre (珠光批发中心), we stopped for a while to buy something and we also saw some local residents sell vegetable along the street.. Subsequently, we continued our journey to ZhuJiang and we reached there in less than 10min.

In ZhuJiang, we took some riverview photos and we are attracted by an old man. He was flying the kite where we can’t see the kite because the fogging weather. After that, we walked back to Globe Link Hotel to talk Express bus to GuangZhou Airport. We reached the airport at 11am.

In the Airport, we went to Ctrip.com booth to collect our air tickets as we will start our journey to west. We did our check in at about 12pm, but the check in ladies can’t find the placement of tickets (GZ to CD). We called back to Ctrip.com to unlock the tickets (activate the tickets). After successfully check in, we went to B1 of the airport to have our tea break.
At 1.30pm, we said goodbye to GZ and we are on the way to CD.

Lord I would like to thank you that you make all things possible in our trip. I would like to thanks Ps Heeguan, Ps Shufang for their experience to reduce the unnecessary incidents. While, I would like to same thank for Xue Mei and Beiyu as they are so well prepared for the trip. I was so blessed by them.

Lord, with you all things is possible, let our heart be ready to for you.

Day 2 06/10/06 Part 2

We arrived at Chengdu Airport, 4.30pm and we took cab to San Pu Business Hotel. It was a four star hotel and located at 80 Wen Miao Hou Jie, which we were very satisfied with the hotel standard. After we settled down we took the trishaw to Wen Shu Fang to have our dinner and to tour the Mooncake festival there.

After that, we met Xumei’s parent’s in the hotel room, they shared a lot about their experience on the trip in Jiu Zhai Gou. It was the meaningful meeting with them. It really allows us to understand Sichuan Province better.

We might not know what things we will face although we have planned the itinerary. Lord, help us to be always seek you and guard our heart so that we will always pray and seek you.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life, Proverb 4:23
